Blah blah blah, I know we are all sick of hearing how awesome Phoebe Philo is and how awesome Celine is. Yep, we all bow to Philo, whatever. No, not whatever. This shirt is one of the main reasons I love Celine so much. Perfectly masculine and feminine all at the same time. Collar removed? Check. Arms skinny-fied? Check. Perfect length for almost wearing as a tunic? YEP!
I bought this shirt at a Barney’s Warehouse store in my neighborhood and it has become a closet essential. I rock it with black cotton boxer shorts like the one in the pics here by David Beckham for H&M. Or I wear it with black mens trousers to work. Sneaker vibes for real Philo-ness, thigh high boots or black leather pumps when I want to sex it up. Either way I am a huge advocate of this “I stole my boyfriends shirt” vibe.
Buy oversized mens tux shirts from a discount retailer if you don’t wanna pay Celine prices. After you get your mens tux shirts, cut off the collar, take in the arms so tight you can barely get your hards in and out, and shape the bottom of the shirt in this gorg curve shape. Any dry cleaner corner street tailor can do these changes for $40 or less. Or if your handy with the sewing machine get after it yourself. And leave raw edges if you want that slight Comme Des Garcons or Lanvin vibe.
