Wardrobe Staple no 27 of 33: The Turtleneck.

The beloved turtleneck is one of those underestimated power pieces in your wardrobe. The thin knit type can winterize even the most summery of dresses when paired with tights and the thick knit type will give you the closest thing to a clothing hug. Warm and cozy, these two types of turtleneck knits are absolute must haves for turning ANY look into pure chicness. With jeans, or a suit for work or a mini skirt for date night, the turtleneck is a workhorse for the winter. For the thinner version, you can find great options at very reasonable prices! For the chunkier turtlenecks, I like to invest in cashmere and colors that never date themselves. For the thick variety, I also like to go over size in the fit.

The Real Real has a killer collection of Celine cashmere, I have purchased at least three sweaters there. Uniqlo is a great go to for well priced cashmere or non itchy wool options. Khaite is currently making the knitwear of my dreams. Daniel Lee is KILLING it with the knits over at Bottega Veneta as well. Naked Cashmere is on the basic side, but that have simple, timeless options at decent prices. I adore the Recycled cashmere oversized turtlenecks from Everlane. Wolford also makes a classic merino wool turtleneck as well as a knit body suit. Frankie Shop has awesome knits too, you just have to be fast on the draw (sign up for their email newsletter and watch their insta) because they sell out fast.
