Why? Like many other women before me, my obsession with Jane Birkin’s style in the 60’s and 70’s runs deep. As I studied her style years back, I fell in love with the simple bag she always seemed to have on her arm, a French shopping basket. While her style was a little different from the baskets here, I fell in love with this straw style from the Morocco based brand French Baskets. I found them on Etsy and ordered the simple straw basket with leather handles immediately. That was a few years ago, and now I have 6 of their bags in my closet. The bags are perfect for the beach, pool, traveling and errands. Pretty much anytime I am running around in town during the day, I have one of these bags.

What? I love all of the French Basket styles with the exception of the round style, because it will only lay flat. I adore the classic leather handle shopping styles, the modern leather handle version and the backpack is super cute. Also the cross bodies are smaller and fantastic if you want an easy hands-free bag for day with some space, but not a giant tote.

How? Great styled with a cute summer dress, a swimsuit with a cover up, a denim or army jumpsuit, or jeans and a tee. I love using these bags to add that French Summer Hot Girl flare to any outfit. They even work with a classic suit.
