Fear Of God
Since its launch in 2013, Jerry Lorenzo-helmed label Fear of God has become a de facto streetwear status symbol. The Los Angeles-based imprint capitalizes on the enduring appeal of sophisticated yet low-key unisex basics, channeling inspirations from grunge to hip-hop into minimalist distillations of the zeitgeist. As the label’s debut collection introduced a novel, layered silhouette, via its signature extra-long T-shirts and side-zip hoodies, to the menswear lexicon, Lorenzo continues to emphasize shape and proportion in his ongoing output. Oversized hoodies and sweatshirts, immaculately cut T-shirts, and slim-fit lounge pants redefine notions of luxury womenswear, inhabiting the spaces between tailoring and streetwise slouch. Lorenzo’s much-coveted Military sneaker adds to the designer’s repertoire of instant classics, offering a premium leather high-top design with neoprene paneling and hand-stitched reinforcements. Ongoing footwear collaborations with Adidas and Vans continue to bolster Fear of God as an industry heavyweight.
Give me all of the collection. This is the ultimate in lounge wear and mixing it with an oversized tailored overcoat is my favorite look of the moment. That being said, these are investment pieces that you will wear for years to come, beyond trends. I LOVE the timeless color palette.
Shop at Fear Of God’s website for a full brand experience. The collection is also carried at Ssense, FWRD, Saks & Nordstrom. Fear of God Essentials is great for those on a budget, if you can get your hands on it. StockX has a great variety of the Essentials, which I love for a good sweat suit.
