Oversized Turtleneck Sweaters
When the chill blows in and winter is in full force, sweaters call to me from my closet. Cozy, thick turtleneck sweaters of the oversized variety are my weapon of choice to fight the frigid air. When going for oversized, I love a cropped length as well as the regular length to tuck into a stretchy denim jean or sweatpant. As per usual, I always prefer cashmere for my knits, but I know there are nice merino wools out there as well. Choose colors that mix well with your wardrobe, and once you have the basics, it’s nice to add some color to cheer up dreary winter days. I like to have at least 4 or 5 good sweaters in my closet for winter. Keep your need to wash down to a minimum by always layering your sweater over an undershirt or tee.
Khaite is making some of the best knits around, as well as Bottega Veneta. My most favorite knit company in the whole wide world is The Elder Statesman, handmade in LA of the finest cashmere, their sweaters are a great lifetime investment. Victor Glemaud is doing some of the funnest knits out there and he does a great oversized fit as well as he does a body con. Everlane has been a constant go to when I want good cashmere and knits at an equally good price. FreePeople does great cashmere as well at a friendly price, and I own quite a few of their knits. Gentle Herd is a newer knit company with good knits and some fashion friendly cuts among more classic styles.
