Cowboy Boots

Growing up in Texas, cowboy boots are something that I tend to take very seriously. While fashion incarnations of cowboy boots tend to be more minimal and sometimes higher quality, the comfort and authentic vibe one gets from a real Made in USA cowboy boot maker is unparalleled. I tend to like a plain design in nice neutral tones and various heights. I own both tall and ankle length, and would love to add a mid calf height to the collection. Since I watched Footloose as a child, I have been obsessed with Ariel’s red boots. I think they may be the sexiest shoes on the planet when paired with high waisted skinny jeans. I also am partial to a fun colored and cut out style as well in the vein of Alabama Whirley from True Romance. Find the boots that work with your own personal style.

Lucchese is the best of the best and my first choice always but only their Made in USA collections, they’re Made in Mexico is missing the quality of the OG versions. Lucchese also make custom boots if you visit one of their stores. I also love Abilene boots for a budget option, I wear the men’s ankle versions myself after discovering them at Wall Drug on a motorcycle trip to Sturgis. Tecovas is also doing a nice affordable boot that feels simple and chic. Another favorite place to shop for boots would have to be Allen Boots in Austin and Double Take in Santa Fe. Net-A-Porter has a good selection of the fashion versions of cowboy boots if you want to go that direction.
