Outerknown

My friend Scott Johnson introduced me to Kelly Slater’s brand, Outerknown. We were in the pits of a flat track race in a farmer’s mowed down cornfield in Beaver Dam, WI, when I noticed Scott’s simple and well cut shorts. When he said they were Outerknown, I was a bit shocked. I knew Kelly Slater had started a brand, backed by the very luxury and very over the top Kering who owns Gucci, Balenciaga and Saint Laurent among others, but I didn’t think Outerknown would be any good. Most Athlete’s slap a logo on athletic clothing and call it a day. Kelly Slater created a simple and well done mens (and Womens) label committed to sustainability. My husband loves the trunks and lives in them when the temperatures rise. The blanket shirts are also great. Well done, Mr. Slater.
